The temple’s iconic feature is its split gate or "candi bentar", which frames a breathtaking view of the distant peak of Mount Agung. Relax in the timeless elegance of Tirta Gangga, an enchanting water palace. Built in 1946 by the King of Karangasem, Tirta Gangga boasts a enthralling array of tiered fountains, reflecting pools, and decorative statues, all framed by vibrant blooms. The name "Tirta Gangga" translates to "Holy Water of the Ganges", reflecting the spiritual and cultural symbolism behind the site. Continue your exploration into historical grandeur and sacred beauty at a second water palace, Taman Ujung. The palace complex is renowned for its grandiose design, including expansive reflecting pools, ornate bridges and elegantly designed pavilions. It reflects a mix of Balinese and European architectural styles, showcasing the king’s interest in blending local and international influences. You’ll be treated to sweeping vistas of lush rice paddies, verdant hills and the distant silhouette of Mount Agung from Bukit Cinta in Pangi. This scenic viewpoint—meaning "Hill of Love"—offers a picturesque sanctuary where nature’s beauty meets unparalleled tranquility.
